Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) was delighted to be part of a special initiative dedicated to supporting our VOS Veterans’ healthcare!
On Monday 24th November, the Mary How Trust provided free full health checks at its Pulborough location for 8 VOS veterans. The comprehensive health checks included vital screenings and assessments designed to detect early signs of illness, empowering veterans to take proactive steps in safeguarding their long-term wellbeing.
Sharon Wemyss, Head of Clinical Care at VOS, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to the Mary How Trust for offering our veterans these free health checks. This initiative helps provide our veterans, who have given so much in service for our nation, with the peace of mind to access to potentially life-saving health information. The dedicated team of healthcare professionals at the Mary How Trust were on hand to deliver compassionate, thorough and confidential care for each individual attending their appointment. “
The 8 VOS service users were provided with allocated appointment slots which took place throughout the day. Our veterans travelled to the location in small groups, giving them a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, catch-up and share stories on the journey.
Following this VOS visit, Mary How Trust’s Practice Manager/ Head of Operations, Rosie Deville said:
“We are truly grateful for the opportunity to provide these free health checks for our Veterans, ensuring that those who have served our country receive the care and attention they deserve. This marks our second collaboration with VOS, and we deeply value the partnership that makes these potentially life-changing assessments possible for their service users. It was a wonderfully successful day, and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
