Combining Forces to Find Solutions for Veterans in Portsmouth
The RNRMC’s workshop agenda provoked excellent communication between the participants, provided valuable education in one another’s support and services, and was a catalyst for reinforcing existing collaboration, as well as finding new opportunities for it. We explored challenges and opportunities, shared problems and solutions, and discussed unmet need and ways to address it. We also heard about how the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity plans to make a real difference through a better understanding of impact and intelligent grant making.
In sum, a great day of communication, education and collaboration. Thank you to Mandy Lindley and the whole RNRMC team for an excellent, informative day and for supporting us in our work to support veterans and their families.
If you were also in attendance, we would love to hear your thoughts and see any photos you took there! Feel free to share them on the VOS Facebook page or to your own social media using the hashtag #RNRMCThroughLife.
If you’re a veteran from the UK Armed Forces or the Merchant Navy (from any time of service) or a partner to one, VOS would love for you to join our community. We are here to offer our support: call us on 02392 731 767, visit an upcoming drop-in, or email admin@vosuk.org.
Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) was delighted to join existing partners and meet new ones at the #RNRMCThroughLife ‘Veterans’ Support Workshop’ in Portsmouth this past week. The workshop was kindly hosted and professionally facilitated by the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity team.
The day provided us (CEO Ian and Operations Manager Alex) with a hugely valuable opportunity to work with others who support veterans and their families, with group discussions and feedback, informal networking and presentations from RNRMC staff, as well as a thought-provoking presentation from Craig Jones, MBE from the Fighting With Pride – LGBT+ Military Charity.
