Going, Going, Gone! Sister Jooles Shaves Her Head for VOS

Veterans Outreach Support is hugely grateful for the £650 donation made by the team at Eastney Health Centre led by Practice Nurse Helen Furie, who arranged a fantastic fundraising event where Sister Jooles SHAVED HER HEAD to raise funds for VOS.

Sister Jooles and the crew ‘before’…

We are so grateful for Sister Jooles’ incredible generosity! It was remarkably kind of her, Helen, and the entire Eastney team to support local veterans in this way. We know they already give so much back to the community each day as healthcare workers- this went above and beyond!

Donations like these go directly toward the welfare, wellbeing, and mental health support services we facilitate for veterans and their partners, spouses, and carers. To read more about how much of a difference these services make, check out our recent case study: A New Lease on Life – Jim and Sally’s Story.

VOS’ own Sandie (seen below with the VOS logo badge on her shirt), was representing us at the head shaving and took some great photos of the event. Helen thanked Sandie and Jooles for being part of their “bit of lunchtime fun”:

As lunch came, everyone in attendance was watching Sister Jooles have her fabulous purple hair shaved off. It was great.

Jooles gets cheered on as the first chop is made…no going back now!

Beautiful both before and after.

A big thanks to Helen for arranging the this, to everyone who donated and supported the event, and of course a massive thank you to Jooles- we think you look amazing with your new hairdo!
