Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is celebrating after being shortlisted in four categories in this year’s English Veterans Awards, recognising the organisation’s impact and the outstanding contributions of our CEO, Ian Millen and Chairman, John Scivier.
VOS has been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Veterans Outreach Support – Veterans’ Group of the Year
- Ian Millen – Leader of the Year Award
Our Chairman, John Scivier, received two nominations, as follows:
- Volunteer of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
These nominations recognise the dedication and commitment of VOS staff, volunteers and supporters as well as the organisation’s ongoing work supporting veterans and their families.
Ian Millen has been shortlisted for his leadership and contribution to VOS and the wider veteran community as CEO, while John Scivier’s nominations recognise both his extensive voluntary service and his lifetime commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.
VOS Chairman, John Scivier said:
“As Chair of Veterans Outreach Support, I am delighted and proud to hear that our charity has been shortlisted in the Veterans Group of the Year category in the English Veterans Awards and that our CEO, Ian Millen has been rightfully recognised for his leadership and achievements over the past seven and a half years, as he has steered us from a relatively small local charity to a much respected and admired organisation with local, regional and national reach.
“Whilst VOS and Ian are on the shortlist, it is the whole VOS family, our President and Vice-President, Trustees, Staff, Volunteers and Patrons that should be rightly proud and whatever the result on the awards night, the VOS family are winners!”
The 2026 English Veterans Awards will take place on 1 October 2026 at the four-star De Vere Cotswolds Water Park. The ceremony is sponsored by CXC Ltd.
The Veterans Awards across the UK are sponsored by Thales Group, with the awards supporting the Army Benevolent Fund and the Royal Navy Royal Marines Charity.
